I hadn't ever heard of something like this before. It will be intersting to see what happens with it!

You are probably correct, that the pixel ads are a fad. What is next? The Vertical Ad site has a certain appeal if it can really deliver visitors. I will try it and let you know how it works out.

Take a look at this site that I came across. Remember it is not a pixel ad site but a regular site that is taking pixel ad and adding a grid on their existing page to sell ads. Go there, maybe that kind of idea is what we need to sustain the visitors and for advertisers like myself to get my money worth. I am sure soon, we will have others doing the same thing which will take the spot light away from million dollar home page clones.

Pixel Ad Talk

PixelAds will continue to evolve and much more websites start using this new form of marketing. Niche+content+pixel advertising will win.

Together with my team I have created a forum specialized in Pixel Advertising: pixeladstalk. We have already 253 active members and growing very fast.

You are all invited and welcomed to join and participate to the discussions and we hope that you will have a very enjoyable experience on Pixel Ad Talk forum.

Any suggestions or opinions you might have are most welcome.

I found a lot of pixel sites on eBay.
One of them hit my mind:
I think this one could be considered the opposite of the million dollar homepage and it looks very funny!
Infact his owner says he hates pixels, so he sells packages of pixels (just one per week) for a few pocket money.

His strategy made me think this could be "something new and more innovative" as you told in your post.
